Fantastic 1952 Berk Ross Willie Mays PSA 4!
Description
So even 70 years ago, the Berk Ross cards seem to have been overshadowed by their Topps and Bowman contemporaries. Based in New York City, Berk Ross unveiled its first 72-card set in 1951. These were printed in two-card panels and were available in four different series, each distributed in a box that contained nine panels (equaling 18 cards). This initial offering included 40 baseball players, as well as athletes from several other sports. This is the second year card of HOF outfielder Willie Mays from the somewhat obscure, and, in my opinion, under-appreciated, and under-valued, 1952 Berk Ross set. This is a beautiful and really cool card in terrific eye appeal in this presentation of 1951 National League Rookie of the Year Mays. This vintage card belongs in any serious collector's collection. There are only 202 graded examples of this card to date. Mickey Mantle has 298.
