When the missile defense robot John Doe begins acting against orders, Batman recruits the aid of the Metal Men to try and find out what is going on; However, when the Metal Men appear on national television denouncing humanity and calling for robot liberation on behalf of John Doe, Batman goes to investigate in person; Inside the missile base, Batman learns that the Metal Men haven't truly betrayed humanity but are being forced to speak on John Doe's behalf because it has Tin held captive.
