"It hasn't taken Perdomo long to establish himself as one of the biggest steals from the 2016-17 international period. Signed by Arizona for $70,000 in July 2016, Perdomo has both made improvements and performed well against advanced competition at every stage early in his career. After climbing three levels to finish his 2018 pro debut as an 18-year-old in the Class A Short-Season Northwest League, Perdomo continued to move quickly in his first full season, reaching Class A Advanced Visalia, then opened even more eyes after the season in the Arizona Fall League as one of the circuit's youngest regulars. He spent the 2020 season at Arizona's alternate training site getting reps against quality pitching. Perdomo is the best defensive player in Arizona's system and a lock to stick as a shortstop. His blend of plus speed and long, quick strides gives him range in all directions on the dirt, and he's long received rave reviews for his slick actions, soft hands and plus arm strength. He also earns high marks for having an excellent internal clock and an overall advanced feel for playing the position. Perdomo has the makings of becoming a plus switch-hitter thanks to his bat speed and barrel control, while the fact that he recorded more walks (169) than strikeouts (148) across his first three pro seasons speaks to the Dominican native's advanced approach. He will flash some power potential as a left-handed hitter, and club officials believe he will develop even more pop as he continues to fill out his wiry-athletic and projectable frame. Perdomo's plus speed gives him impact potential on the bases. He swiped at least 20 bags in back-to-back seasons (2018-19) but will need to become a more efficient basestealer after being cut down in 33 percent of his attempts in 2019. Perdomo's natural hitting ability, speed and defensive chops at a premium position do give more of a high floor than ceiling, but he's poised to become an everyday shortstop in the big leagues either way, and few within the organization would be surprised if he were to ultimately surpass expectations." - MLB.com Top Prospects Rankings analysis
